About Atomic Hepcatz
Rock ‘n’ roll dance needed a shake-up. So we gave it one.
Atomic Hepcatz was founded on the Gold Coast in 2025 by Jake Maloney and Tiffany Moir after one too many nights walking into dance events that felt more like God’s waiting room than a rock ‘n’ roll party.
Bright hall lights. Awkward rooms. The same little groups sticking together.
That wasn’t the future of rock ‘n’ roll dancing we wanted.
We wanted to create something welcoming, energetic and built for today – a place where kids, teenagers, adults and the young at heart could learn to dance, meet people, keep active and genuinely feel like they belonged.
No cliques. No dance snobs. No weird exclusivity.
Atomic Hepcatz isn’t an exclusive club, and we’re certainly not the toxic ex telling you who you can and can’t dance with. Dance with everyone. Learn from everyone. Go to events. Support the community. Just keep dancing.

Our mission is to help preserve, modernise and grow rock ‘n’ roll and vintage dance culture for the next generation.
We teach rock ‘n’ roll, rockabilly, swing, Lindy Hop, jive, boogie woogie and line dancing to people of all ages and abilities from kids taking their first steps to experienced dancers looking to refine their technique, perform or compete.
Based in Molendinar on the Gold Coast, Atomic Hepcatz specialises in private dance lessons, couples lessons, private group tuition, dance workshops, live entertainment, competition training, performance opportunities and community events across South East Queensland and Northern NSW.
We respect where these dances came from. We teach proper foundations and technique. But we also believe the atmosphere surrounding them needs to keep moving with the times.

So... why the name Atomic Hepcatz?
Atomic isn’t just science class stuff. We’re talking mid-century madness, space-age style, bold design and that explosive energy you feel when the right song hits. Think fusion, not fission we come together and create something bigger.
Hepcat is old-school slang for one of the coolest cats in the room. Sharp style, slick moves and absolutely no interest in being boring.
And the two cats in our logo?
They’re not just decoration…They’re us! – Two dancers fused by rhythm, fuelled by vintage heat and always trying to land on our feet… with style.
Put it all together and you’ve got Atomic Hepcatz: a Gold Coast dance community with more style than sense, more rhythm than reason and one hell of a mission to keep rock ‘n’ roll dancing alive.

Meet the Faces Behind Atomic Hepcatz: Jake & Tiffany
Atomic Hepcatz was founded by Jake Maloney and Tiffany Moir two lifelong dancers brought back together by a shared passion for rock ‘n’ roll, swing and building a welcoming dance community.
With decades of combined experience performing, competing, teaching and judging, they’ve helped hundreds of dancers discover the joy of social dancing, whether it’s their first class or their hundredth.
More than just teaching steps, Jake and Tiffany have created a place where confidence grows, friendships are made, and the spirit of vintage dance lives on.
Atomic Hepcatz isn’t just a dance school – it’s a community.
